It's Hard To Photograph Your Own Arm

Today's title would definitely come under the heading "Things I Have Learned Today". I had no idea it would require a degree in contortion to photograph your own wrist, well that's my reason for the dodgy nature of my photographs. And I could not get one of the band that wasn't distinctly bleached by flash.
I'm going to need the help of a lovely assistant at some point to get a better picture I think!
So there it is, my new tattoo, a Claddagh with a Celtic band.
I know a Claddagh doesn't usually come with stars, but that was part of my design and it was important for them to be there.

I do hope you aren't suffering with some kind of blindness after looking at the last one!
I'd had this planned in my mind for ages and as I sit here, newly wrapped, again, in clingfilm (apparently you don't scab if you clingfilm and I am scab-less so far) and I love it. It's exactly what I wanted and makes me smile every time I see it. Which has got to be what a tattoo is about, right?

Hey Flibbertigibbert, it's GLORIOUS! That's the trouble with the tatt on my ankle, I have to turn my leg and contort my neck to see it, much nicer to just have it there, where you can eyeball it at any time, like a piece of permanent jewellery :o) Enjoy!

Ooh nice! I love the "greyscale" work, it always looks classy.

I recently tried to take a photo of a spider bite on my own right hand, and I do know how hard it is to photograph your own upper limbs!

Carrie: Thank you! I have a small design on my ankle and every time I catch sight of it I feel a little surprised to see it as I forget it's there!

Sleepydumpling: A spider bite? Oh my lord! Was it really bad?
And thank you! I'm so chuffed with it!

Nah, it's all good, it had me worried but it was healed within two days.

Blimey Sis - you must be a glutton for pain! Even now I'm 38 (shh) I can still not imagine getting inked. Looks neat however.......x

Ah... I really don't think tattoos are that painful! I will admit that back of the wrist was a bit sore, but that's all!
Roll on the next one next month!

The arm certainly isn't that painful. The one on my foot KILLED though!

Apron: Thank you so much. I'm SO pleased I finally got round to doing it.

Sleepydumpling: I was going to have a gecko done the length of my foot and I'm not sure that I have the pain threshold to take it!
My tattooist said, he always figures, if you want it badly enough, it doesn't matter how much it hurts!

The foot was ALMOST more than I could bear. Only in a few spots, but boy oh boy. I was sure I was going to puke on the wee tiny girl tattooist I have!

I remember a male tattooist telling me he had only the outline of a design on his foot because the pain had been more than he could bear. Then a week or so later a lady came in and told him that she wanted a large design on her foot and he inwardly chuckled. But at the end of it, she'd barely winced and said he was ashamed of his tolerance for pain. The men just can't take it. And we're the weaker sex? Ha! ;) LOL
